THE ROLE 

This on-site position is responsible for providing financial and analytical support to the Operations and Supply Chain functions. The Financial Analyst will play an integral role in the month-end close process, cost management, and performance reporting. Working in close partnership with Operations and Supply Chain leadership, this role will deliver timely analysis that identifies trends, risks, and opportunities, while supporting sound inventory and cost management strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Month-End Close 

  • Own and execute monthly labor reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to Operations management 
  • Prepare expense variance analysis comparing actual results to plan and prior year, with clear narrative commentary 
  • Perform volume-adjusted expense analyses to isolate the impact of volume changes from true cost variances, enabling more meaningful performance assessment 
  • Prepare reports and slides for presentations as needed 

Business Partnership & Functional Support   

  • Provide financial and analytical support to key business functions, which may include Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other leadership teams. 
  • Partner with business leaders to understand performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making. 
  • Support analysis related to cost management, profitability, inventory, freight, working capital, sales performance, or other business priorities as needed. 
  • Help translate financial and operational data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for non-finance audiences. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial visibility, cost efficiency, margin performance, and overall business results. 

Freight & Logistics 

  • Analyze domestic trucking expenses versus plan and prior year, identifying key drivers and presenting findings to Finance and Operations leadership 
  • Track and monitor landed material costs, including freight, duty, and other import-related charges, to ensure accurate product costing 
  • Identify opportunities to improve freight cost efficiency and partner with Supply Chain on corrective actions 

Inventory Management Support 

  • Prepare regular inventory reporting and KPIs for Supply Chain and Finance leadership 
  • Partner with operations and planning teams to analyze inventory levels relative to demand and identify opportunities to optimize working capital 

Reporting & Analysis 

  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and KPIs for distribution to Operations and Supply Chain management 
  • Analyze financial results against plan and prior year, identify trends and major variances, and present findings with actionable insights 
  • Leverage Power BI and AI to develop and enhance recurring dashboards and reports 
  • Complete ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed across Finance and Operations
  • Help improve reporting processes, automate manual work, and develop additional tools to drive organizational decision-making and continuous improvement


The above responsibilities may change, and other tasks, deliverables and/or responsibilities may be added to the above as per business need as determined by Finance management.


REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· 2-4 years’ experience in a financial analyst or accounting role; operations or manufacturing finance exposure a plus

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear narratives for non-finance audiences

· Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling

· Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools preferred (Power BI)

· Ability to work within ERP systems; familiarity with inventory and cost modules a plus

· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Team player with strong initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving

· Highly adaptable to shifting priorities; comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving processes

· Ability to commute to Lawrence, MA facility 4-5 days per week
