Key Responsibilities
· Run daily huddles
· Ensure plans and resources (people, facilities, supplies etc.) are efficiently utilized
· Evaluate incoming workflow to ensure efficient start-up, manufacturing pace and order change-over, while maintaining high quality
· Assess start-up conditions for all equipment and orders prior to shift and make any adjustments needed
· Log staffing issues and make staffing adjustments with other Supervisors based on business needs
· Utilize dispatch list to ensure proper job sequencing is followed and all production timelines are met
· Facilitate problem-solving and corrective action for production and quality issues.
· Ensure effectiveness of all associates, with focus on safety, quality, and productivity
· Evaluate individual performance to identify any strengths or weaknesses to be addressed and communicate with the department manager
· Conduct standard work and quality audits daily to ensure proper methods are being used
· Participate in Fluid Feedback sessions for all employees within the group, along with department manager
· Ensure all production reporting and transactions are complete and accurate
· Enter production and quality data in the system to assess performance
· Provide feedback to associates related to performance
· Work with other supervisors in process improvement initiatives
· Understand Process Lead roles, so appropriate coverage is in place during times of absenteeism or peak demand
· Provide technical support and training to each team member
· Communicate maintenance issues to the maintenance department
· Evaluate product quality throughout shift to ensure customer standards are being met
· Log staffing issues and making staffing adjustments with other supervisors based on business needs
· Communicate personnel issues immediately to manager and/or human resources
· Maintain a safe environment
· Assist in payroll process
· Flexible working hours, to include pre & post-shift support, as well as Saturday or Sunday availability
· Sustain strong working relationship with peers on off shifts in order to clearly communicate shift change details
· Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
· 5+ years’ prior experience in Manufacturing
· Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills are essential
· Must be able to effectively use a PC including Microsoft Office (or equivalent programs) and a Windows based environment
· Proficient in ERP systems
· Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is preferred
· Experience processing custom packaging/labeling and inserting miscellaneous components into kit
· Ability to utilize Continuous Improvement concepts and philosophies on a regular basis
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills
